Apple''s secretive Swiss AI lab rumored to be working on AI for iOS18

What is Apple doing in the Swiss Alps? According to some, they might be in the process of building their very own cutting-edge AI research lab, known as the Zurich Vision Lab.

Apple and AI

Apple have had a few bumps in the road lately with some of their new products. First, the Apple car didn't turned out the way they wanted it to and was discontinued. Then the Apple Vision Pro was released and took the world with storm. It was, according to The Verge the best consumer headset ever made, but... That was part of the problem. It was so good and so expensive that it was extremely hard to find a use for it for the average Apple fanboy, except vacuuming up digital coins.

Under Steve Jobs, Apple's products was made to be used. It was designed specifically to be a product where everyone who spent their hard-earned monies on it could bring out the full potential of the product. This is, unfortunately, not the case with the Vision Pro.

Run to the Hills

Even though the (in)famous research lab in the Swiss Alps was responsible for the products that didn't really make it, they're also responsible for a full host of advancements that has been put to goo use. This include, but is not limited to FaceTime's new eye contact correction, and the new Visual Lookup feature in iOS 15.

Now, it's rumored that Apple have been putting in the long hours to make AI work locally in upcoming phones, likely to be included in iOS18. While we don't know too much about what Apple is trying to accomplish with AI, we do know that Apple never does anything half-arsed. The above mentioned "failures" that are not really failures just shows that when Apple creates a VR headset they create the best VR headset, whether the public can afford it or not.

With that in mind in will be extremely interesting to see what features they will give future iOS users world wide.

Personally, I'd love to see it integrate with Siri, with all the different generation tools for images, video, audio, voice, text, etc. It will also be truly great step to help people with disabilities make better use of their phones.
